our cat patra has just died having deteriorated markedly over the last few days. she was at least 15 so not had a bad innings.

it's sad she's gone, but at least she went peacefully in her sleep before we had to have her put down.

;)

My sympathies too. At 15+, she must have well and truly been a part of the family. It's good she went in her own time, it feels somehow right.

My sympathies too, we had our eldest puss put to sleep a couple of months ago and I know it was the right thing but that didn't make it less of a loss.

Oh that's sad. Cats in particular seem to go downhill very fast when the time comes. Fifteen is a good cat innings, RIP Patra.

;) So sorry..

RIP - glad she passed away peacefully - they often disappear when the time comes. We've got three cats - the older two are about 13, the youngster 2.... had a few tough times with the older two, but both well at present.

My nephew was gutted last week, their mature cat had gone missing, unfortunately they found it dead with it's throat ripped out - poorly controlled dog I'd say - they live on a council estate and there are quite a few 'nasty' dogs (or is that owners - not the dog's fault)

Sympathy mate, I know how it feels.

At least she died peacefully and you didn't have to do it for her.

Hope you and family are ok.

The venerable Doog sends his condolences. Never pleasant, but that's about the best way for a pet to go. Andy Gates tells a tale about one of his family cats which curled up under a bench, turned into a Russian hat and never woke up.
