Will buy a pie from the local butchers after my ride tomorrow and enjoy it for him.

Sorry to hear this news. I only met Vernon once, and I remember his generosity with the pies. We all have to go some time, but it would be nice to be remembered as fondly as Vernon is on this forum.

I've not been on CC that long but always enjoyed Vernon's post and banter. shocking to here of his passing too soon.

I've not been too active on here of late but have obviously just read this terrible news.

How very, very sad.

Reading all the posts here and the other few threads in tribute to Vernon, I have to say everyone involved has got it spot on, more a celebration of a very vibrant colourful larger than life character. I never knew him but read plenty by him and it is people like him that make the world a far better place.

My thoughts are with his family.
