saddle height etc

I've searched and googled and so on, but I'm a little uncertain so thought I'd ask:

On both the 109% inseam method and the le mond 0.883 method do you measure the result parallel to the seat tube or dead vertical, in the case of the 109% its top of saddle to centre of pedal spindle or le mond top of saddle to centre of bb. If veritcal the result seems to be a slightly higher saddle.

However don't be fixated by what the "equations" give you, they are only a rough guide and you will need to do further tweaks to get it perfect.

Thanks, I have used it as a starting point, again, after changing saddles. The selle italia tubomatic seems not as tall as the original oem san marco wooden board and I'm struggling to get it dead right.
