rubbish uphill, downhill 'balast' make me fast

Bought a triban 3 and when I rode it first the seat was surprisingly comfortable but ever do slightly low, I bought a longer seat post so I can get the seat to the correct(or what I assume is correct) position, and now it hurts my poor bottom.

I was wearing the same kit both time, is it that I now have the seat in a position that takes my full weight thus the bum pain?

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Have you raised the seat height?
As you do it increases the distance the saddle is from the front of the bike , i put my saddle up this week and its now 5 mm further back as well so i need to slide it a bit futher foward on its rails.

What do you assume is the "correct" seat height?
It is lower than a lot of folks think it might be. Knees should still have something a 30 deg bend at the bottom of the pedal stroke.
