Saddle

My new Trek comes fitted with a Bontrager Infinity 1 saddle which doesn't seem to get great reviews.

Is it worth getting my bum measured and looking at the different width options provided by my LBS?

I know saddles are pretty cheap to change but I'd prefer to get it as right as poss' from the off.

why don't you wait until you have put a few miles on it and then see if the saddle fits you

I hear what you say. Was just wondering if it would be better to go get a saddle that definitely fitted and get an allowance on the old one as oppossed to riding on one for a month or two, maybe not liking it, having to get a new one and losing any allowance.

Just being tight! Maybe worrying about things too much as it is yonks since I have been on a bike!

It's taken me 600 miles to realise that I don't like my stock saddle. Just bought a charge spoon so it'll be another 500+ to figure that out! I'll eBay the stock.

+1 for all the above. Saddles are so personal, I've bought loads in the past and while one may be 'pretty cheap to change', (unless it's a Specialized Toupe, learnt that lesson the hard way ), after a few trial and errors it starts getting very expensive. Ride the stock saddle, you might just love it, I'm sure 1000's do.
