The saddle on the new bike has to go!!
It seems too narrow (even for a womens specific) though it could be that I just have a large butt...well there's no 'could' about that statement, and is rock hard.
I'm now on a saddle hunt!

good luck.... some bike shops will let you try before you buy (for a deposit i guess), which is worth doing as one never really knows what a saddle is like until a good few miles have been done.

Good luck....Mrs R likes her Brooks B17 (w) but it's not for everyone.

I'm thinking about this as a few have recommend it.

A good bike shop will measure the width of your sit bones and recommend the correct width of saddle.
In my experience one that is too soft and padded will feel; great at first but not so good on long rides. Takes a while to get used to any saddle.

I was going to say something similar to @Cubist I have a ladies Specialised BG sonoma gel saddle you are more than welcome to try out. Way too wide for me. I have dropped to a man's 143mm saddle and find it much more comfortable!

Oh shame, Laura, I recently gave away to the bike recycling place the big comfy saddle that came with my Boris.
Just shows you, never give bike stuff away ... could have given it to you!

What type and size is the saddle on the bike? Assume it's positioned correctly and is level? Can you get to. Specialized dealer with their bottom measurer?

I can send you one of these in B&W as I have two spare now! It's got a slight nick out of the cover but otherwise all good. Just a couple of quid for postage

It's Specialized women's body geometry something or other. It's hard as a rock!!!
Don't know what size it is. I just know it's like sitting on a razor blade!!!
