I’d be more worried by bumping into people staying in 4* hotels.Forget the dangerous polar bears. I'd be more worried about armed bandits in that region.
Watch out for tigers...
Just don't like crowds when you slum it do you?I’d be more worried by bumping into people staying in 4* hotels.

Why Tanzania for the migration? I've always wanted to see the migration on the Mara so that bit isn't negotiable for meTrailfinders are a fantastic operator. Not sure how Travelbag are doing these days.
I would seriously recommend Southern Africa over East Africa for a really genuine safari experience. If it is the great migration you are interested in, think Tanzania rather than Kenya.
They are seriously expensive though from what I've seen?!Audley travel organised our 5 weeks in Canada last year. Faultless organisation . We gave our organiser a wish list, she filled in the details and suggested great options.
Audley's agents are real specialists in the countries they deal with having travelled extensively there and have direct experience of everything they are selling .

Trailfinders are similarly experienced and have a safari team, but for safari a specialist operator might be good
Looking at BA flight prices for this year at least, late August actually isn't stupidly expensive as might be expected as school hols (about £850 for Prem Econ)
May be so but as I say, I've always wanted to see the migration, it's not safari per se (as I say, I've been to Tanzania where it certainly wasn't very touristy)Certainly not cheap. But good value for the market they are aiming at.
We've done a fair bit of safari and the migrations are on are must do list but so far by far the best game viewing was Etosha in Namibia and the Okavango and Sabi river in Botswana. THe difference? Kenya is mass tourism with many tour busses rou d every pride of lions, Namibia we were often the only safari truck in sight and the Okavango is just so special. Damned if we can remember the tour organiser we used.
