I'm not saying pedal reflectors aren't useful, just the law is in a way archaic as they don't take into account modern clipless pedals and cycling shoes generally having reflectives. It could really do with being ammended to deal with this, along with modern lights being much brighter than the old dynamos and everready bricks that were the norm at the time.
I don't however believe laws on red lights require ammendment.
