I took delivery of my new bike today which, in hindsight, was a bit of an impulse buy so more fool me! The bike is a Surley Karate Monkey and it came with Salsa Delgado Cross rims. The tyres are much wider than I thought they would be. I am thinking of ditching the tyres for something far less wide. I understand the rims are 700c and they have a width of 22.5mm. I am hoping to use the bike for tearing around my local park with its gravel paths and occasional grassy bit. In the future I will very likely be using it for commuting. There seems to be a bewildering range of tyres out there. Can anyone recommend a set of tyres that might do the job? Would a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus fit perhaps?
