i have a samsung ue32es6710 and i will turn it off using the remote and randomly it will turn the backlit on.
the red light is on to say it is in standby mode. there is no picture or sound just the backlit turns on.
what is wrong with it.
i have a virgin tivo box and ps3 connected via hdmi and also tv is connected via wifi to home network.

i emailed samsung uk with regard to this:
first response - turn off check for updates while on standby. (and give the wrong location to the setting)
second response - update the firmware (even though i told them i already done it)
third response -it is not a fault, it is meant to do it because it turns the backlight on so that when you turn on the tv you get the optimum viewing straight away and don't have to wait for it to warm up.
i just think they didn't have a clue and made up a possible reason.
