The irony is, I typed that, posted it, and then had a sudden moment of doubt, and had to double check I was right!

Is it a NO NO to wear sandles when cycling? I have a pair of 'jesus' sandles that i wore this morning, they have velcro fastening and safer than my trainers with laces, just wondered because as a couple of MAMILs past me i'm sure i heard them laugh
ps not that i care , its hot and i was comfy !!!!

I wear my sandals a lot on hot days....just wear what you like

Why not I wear every type of shoe flip flops, boots, sandals, pumps, heels, whatever is needed to be on my feet at destination is what I wear (also bare foot has been tried)

I was wearing a pretty pair of sandals on a long cycle at the weekend. I didn't realise it was a silly idea until we were about ten miles from home on the return leg. My foot was at the lowest point, i hit a bump and got a nasty pain in my toe, I scraped the skin right back an inch on my big toe from just below the nail. We hadn't packed plasters and it was getting into sunday evening, so there was no option but to continue on dripping blood until it clotted and clean it when i got home.
A lesson learned the hard way
My toe still hurts
