Fundamental differences:

1. Cyclists need bigger brains than motons - they have to balance and motons don't

2. Cyclists can usually only kill themselves

Presumably cyclists (like me) with bigger brains and who can balance are able to use these facilities while driving? Certainly helps me when I'm out on my motorbike. Or do even uber brained cyclists switch their brains off when they get in a car ?

I've used a sat nav for a long time - like oh..7 years.....like the time I've had my car..... it works..well if you use your head.. (like a cyclist would).....

Bought my car with the system integrated a long time ago....., (PS Mr Pig - the P12 is still OK...no probs) and up North, very little road changes..... where there are some, you just let it re-route - I never have voice on anyway......... I never rely on it anyway as I look at the route............ just nice when you get into a village and have to find a house.....

Motor cyclists have to balance as well so presumably count (most of) them in.

When I wrote that post I'd earlier watched two car drivers demonstrating why they were mentally unfit to be allowed out, let alone in control of a tonne or more of vehicle, so was perhaps being a little extreme!

Whether or not cyclists make better drivers than non-cyclists has been done to death on another thread, but in general my observation is that most people who use bikes of all varieties do leave their brains on-line when in cars and make better drivers than those who only ever stay in their metal boxes on wheels.
