Not a great follower but I loved it when the "baddie" sneered and hissed at the booing crowd. The wrestlers were just big blokes with a certain amount of flab, not the steroid-pumped freaks of today.

I used to like the Royal Brothers, although I thought something was not quite right, as the 'brothers' had different surnames: Bert Royal & Vic Falkner (and Bert was bald, whilst Vic had long blonde hair).

Thank goodness there wasn't the Jeremy Kyle Show and the DNA tests at the time, eh?

It was fun.
There was one move where one wrestler would rub his forearm on the others throat and the victim would stagger about in daze.
Then the jumping off the rope (when the ref was not looking) and the other bloke would move over a bit to line up to get jumped on.

Then your dad would check his pools results but I never did understand what was good or bad about results and "score draws".

After that at around half past five Star Trek was on!

Simple times but I guess our kids will have memories of Mario Brothers or X factor.

A couple more of Adrian Street. I used to see him wandering about when I worked in Streatham. About 5'2'' tall and about the same wide. Always seemed to have a couple glammed up women hanging on his arm.
