Morning all. Dry and sunny / cloudy and now off for a club gravel ride. Family walk with wonky dog later. All in all should be a nice day.

Bright n breezy up here in the South of the country.

Local ParkRun is celebrating its 250th event this week so I think I'll go along even though the legs are saying uvavu to that suggestion.

It's the village fête worse than death today; it really is a close relative to Big fat gypsy weddings and with both kids now past the age of participation, I'm able to step back and marvel at the wrongness of it all.

Have a good one.

Bright start now cloudy and breezy. Cool too! Meh.
If there is a long enough break in the clouds, i'll pedal. I need to, i'm getting out of shape.

Back to wet and dank here although the forecast says it will improve at some point. So it will be walk Bertie once drys out a bit then maybe some stretching and shoulder rehab.

Lie in done, just need to shove bike and kit into the car and head off for the start of today's ride. Ironically we'll end up most of the way back to my house during the ride.

Is that the Cramond Park Run or is there one nearer to you?

Nearest is Oriam ParkRun at Riccarton campus. It's a hilly course and I felt a twinge about 400m in so bailed rather than spend the best of the summer limping.

Crammond is a flat fast course so I might give that one a go once I'm operational again.

Ever been tempted?

The family did C25k during lockdown so did the Cramond then and a couple of years later , my daughter convinced us to do it again! It's certainly flat , unlike running in any direction round here. Daughter has kept up the running 10km and half marathon.
We haven't, stuck to cycling and walking instead.

I barely ran until lockdown but when Boris decreed that we should take no more than an hour's exercise, it seemed the best way to get some exercise in.

Mrs Wakemalcolm has taken C25K beyond its natural boundaries and is also up to 10k.

Although I'm comparative better at running than cycling you can't beat the feeling of losing yourself for 6 or 7 hours on a bike with changing landscapes to be enjoyed.
