Hi
I am planning my own coast to coast cycle to raise funds for a charity.
Scarborough to Morecombe about 140 miles planning on camping on route and to enjoy the great outdoors.
I am thinking of doing it on my own .
What do you lot think.

i think you will have to be fond of your own company, can you not find anyone else to join you in your quest?

I'm thinking of doing the Morecambe to Bridlington route on my tod over four days, although i might miss out the Morecambe bit. I prefer solo cycling, but the non-cycling times of day might be a bit dull.

At the moment it's Mind Who help people who suffer from depression etc. I have suffered for a long time but I am finely getting better and thought why give something back. As for being lonely on the trip maybe sometimes but then that gives you inprerastion to do it and get to the end

Done it twice.

Brilliant route, but I would do it from Morecambe. You'll be lucky to get an easterly wind.

We followed the way of the roses (more or less) until Rippon, then made our own way to Scarborough.

Easily doable in a day, which is what we did.

You'd be better off cycling in the opposite direction. Get the hills over and done with at the start and a nice relaxing flat finish. You're also more likely to have a tail wind.

The last 30 or so miles before Scarborough on the Way of the Roses is through the Yorkshire Wolds, a little-known and remote area of England with some fascinating landscapes.

I am planning on using cycle route 69 then 68. I am on no rush and plan to take it easy and enjoy the trip
