Does anybody know if Schwalbe Impac tyres have the same puncture protection as other Schwalbe tyres?
They're about the same price as other manufacturers entry level tyres.

A bike mechanic on another forum said these don't have any real puncture protection at all.
I suppose I might as well save a couple of quid and buy an unbranded tyre.

IIRC they have a very thin and narrow strip of kevlar type material down the centre. Its not like the same protection you get on the M+.

You could glue in some of this stuff to improve it. Varies in price. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/panaracer-f...d||pkw||pmt||prd|5300024244uk&dest=1&curr=GBP I do wonder if buying some thick felt from a material shop might do the same, for a lot less, LOL!

Or you could just buy these http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/pro...yre-brompton?gclid=COCV96Cw7sICFU6WtAodG3QA8w Panracer Crosstowns are great for the money - depending on the wheel size you can get them from about £9 onwards.
