Keep Calm and OMG.......CAKES!!
I'm looking at getting an N+3 bike which would be my first hybrid bike. My LBS is a stockist for Schwinn bikes. I know nothing really about hybrids so is this a reasonable make of bike ?

What is the average weight for a hybrid bike. I thought the bike I tried was rather heavy but I'm used to the lightness of a road bike.

I like the concept of calling it an n+3 bike. I'm guessing that means logically the second you've purchased it you have two buy two more to be n+1 and 2 to balance out the universe!

Some hybrids are more mountain than road. I had a 15kg Marin Larkspur which was an MTB with 700c wheels and rigid forks. My 13kg Carerra Gryphon was a road bike with MTB rear mech, 700c road wheels, 28c tyres and compact double chainset. Both were not as light as a drop bar road bike. Scott do some lightweight flatbar road bikes - not technically a hybrid though.

Schwinn a big US brand, more budget end than Trek or Specialized

12kg for a fast hybrid, maybe 15 or 16 for a more rugged one with suspension

Depends what you want it for and how much spending?
