I made some enquiries about this as i quite liked the idea. Thought it has a Rolhoff rear hub but no, its seems it is just an 8 or 9 speed rear and single ring up front. Seat looks very comfy too!

Ohhhhh, I want those bags. Think I'll ask about them. Btw if anyone has any medium/large side panniers for sale I'm after some. The 12.5 litre ones I use are just not quite big enough for commuting with work gear.

.....hey Frank, gonna talk frankly here so sorry if it sounds negative. Riding a trike does add another dimension to recumbenteering, but is it right for you?

I spend around 2 months in the UK each year, and can say I would not entertain riding one in the Reading area, or even a LWB for that matter. Roads are simply too congested, dangerous, full of obstacles, and then there are some fairly steep hills to contend with. OK, on hills you can crawl along at almost a snail's pace without fear of falling, so maybe that would work with correct gearing. In the UK I ride a MTB most days, and yes, there are a few stretches where it would be nice to ride a trike, but not many. What I'm really saying is it would be a shame to make a fairly expensive purchase, then have it tucked away at the back of the garage gathering dust.

Anyways, I'm sure you're old enough and wise enough to know what you want, so please excuse my blather.........

I was going to say lets be frank lol , think its a trike thing where you want stability ,no balance issues and outright fun as opposed to worrying about fallen off , pushing a 2 wheel bent up a steep hill etc. Don't get me wrong love my Toxy ZR but sometimes wish I could have both trike and 2 wheel bent mm have to look at the Cruzbike, trike concept again methinks.

Have been riding my trike to commute for the last 2 months. Although it is a bit slower than my DF bike, I have almost no issues with safety on the road. Even considered getting rid on my cameras. If you want a nice comfy and stress free ride then maybe a trike is a good option.

Dunno much about trikes but I know Prudhoe very well, it is not flat and has some steep hills and long sapping drags, if that trike has been ridden around there then I.suspect the gearing will be suitable for all bar extreme regions or has been ridden by a superhero.

It is in the Newcastle commuter belt on the old main route from Newcastle thru Hexham to Carlisle too and even with A69 nearby & a local town bypass (fast, bendy and not at all bike friendly) taking traffic out of the centre, it is still quite busy and commutery, so again, if its been used locally then I imagine visibility & being seen shouldn't be a big concern.

I don't think this Scorpion is currently rideable. The chain and chain tubes are no longer positioned correctly around the idler. I strongly suggest you view before making any offers. But it might be easily fixable, can't say from the photos.

Thanks for the replies, especially my 'guardian Frank', its meant genuinely, trust me.
I know a Trike is not really for me as the speed-freak in me is whispering that Toxy isnt and never will be fast enough no matter what I do....
A trike is a little insurance for the future, I'm looking to mid next year when my hip replacement will be due, trike might be a good recovery option and perhaps
Mrs. F.F. might be tempted to have a go
(PS - I know I want a big rear as well.... wheel that is!)
