I've been watching all the bits about Scotland's independent voting and I've seen and heard a lot of opinions.
Now I've just watched a bit about people in Edinburgh singing god save the queen and then Scottish folk getting into fights with the singers and the comments I've heard have made me laugh. There is Scottish folk say how its so bad the the English are taunting the Scottish with there songs. For crying out loud its a song its not Gona brake your bones grow up and ignore it. And I think its funny that the Scottish are moaning about the English taunting them with songs have u ever been to a Scottish football match and listened to some of the abusive songs the Scots come out with espeshely when playing an English team. So why can the Scots sing abusive songs to taunt the English but as soon as its the Other way round its so wrong.

Some times im amazed at how people act.
Personally I think everyone in these fights and arguments should try acting there age and remember we are all part of the HUMAN RACE it shouldn't make any difference what colour you are or where you were born we are all the same so for crying out loud let's try and act like humans not animals fighting for territory.

what actually upsets us is not the song.

Maybe it is, though. As the Big Yin once pointed out,
"Lord grant that Marshal Wade
May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring
May he sedition hush
And like a torrent rush
Rebellious Scots to crush

God save the King"
isn't particularly , err, sympatico.

That was a temporary verse dating form around 1745 and wasn't included when God save the Queen/King became accepted as the British national anthem in the 1780/90s.
And at the time of the above the Jacobites had their own version containing..

God bless the prince, I pray,
God bless the prince, I pray,
Charlie I mean;
That Scotland we may see
Freed from vile Presbyt'ry,
Both George and his Feckie,
Ever so, Amen.
It's just dickheads on both sides trying to perpetuate a long dead fued.
