Scotland's wettest summer since 1938.

Proof that I haven't been imagining it; June and July were the wettest since 1938, and as the article says "August is also shaping up to be a damp squib".
Pretty much as a consequence (and being a self confessed hater of cycling in the rain - it's supposed to be fun so never mind MTF'nU!) my cycling mileage is sitting at a pathetic 2k or thereabouts for the year so far. Target of 3.5k is looking out of sight with the winter months coming up. Ach well, there's always next year .

True. But for it to be the wettest in 80 years in a country with a reputation for wet, grey, dreich summers, it has to be VERY wet!

Ach, it hasn't been that bad..

The sunny 'Port' has had 192.3 mm in that period..Aug has 100mm so far,

Granted we had a couple of damp squid weeks in August but other than that it's been a long hot summer here in the South and I have a tan worthy of the Med.
