scrap car value

my daughter has an old n reg corsa, mot ran out end of last month , does anyone have any idea of scrap value , just so i have an idea what to expect, obviously she wants as much as she can get and doesnt want somebody taking it for sod all, i guess it wont be worth much though.

I asked about my Astra when i was replacing it last month. I was quoted £120 driven in, so not a lot. As it was the car wasn't dead (two unrelated symptoms made it look like a big expensive repair was needed), so it lives on and I passed it on to my brother who just passed his test.

Depends what the current price of scrap metal is but I would have thought at least £100 collected - perhaps a bit more if you could get it to the scrap yard.

About this time last year I scrapped a Y reg Peugeot, got £150 for it.

I sold mine through a scrap auction site, where they bid. Can't recall how I found but google it. A few people bid and I got 200 for it. Very smooth process.

Put it on Gumtree for a bit more than scrap value. You'll probably do OK.

Scrap is around £80 a ton at the moment, depends where you go.

Fill the petrol tank and engine with water, and tow it to the scrappie for weighing in.
