seat post sizes how many ?

just picked up latest project from lbs after having wheels dished to suit , and started fitting back up and got right to the point where we just need a seat post , so out came box of spares with loads of seat post in and do you think i have the right size for this mid 60's Carlton frame , yes you are right and no i dont , i have a 26.2 that is the closest but does not go tight i have a 26.6 that is just to big to go in , so must be a 26.4 i need . just how many sizes are there !!

Seatpost's are available in .2mm increments from 25.0 to 31.0mm and then some odd sizes even bigger.

Some old Peugeots used 24.6mm and kids bikes were often 7/8".
