Bit of a dumb question but I have foolishly over tightened the seat bolt clamp on my Raleigh Airlite 400 and it has broken. The seatpost is a 27.2mm but the seat tube is 35mm in diameter, so my question is, when buying a seat post clamp which size do I use? Also I am looking to replace the seatpost with a carbon one, do I need a special seatpost clamp or not?

Thanks

Jon

You need a 34.9mm clamp. Not aware that you need anything special if the seatpost is carbon, but you could maybe do with knowing the right torque setting before you fit one!
