Purely a aesthetic question.

How much seatpost do you think showing on a road bike with an horizontal top tube is aesthetically pleasing?

If it's purely aesthetics, and I'm the beholder and not the rider, quite a lot. I'm a big advocate of the "towering seatpost and slammed stem" look.

Agreed, I don't really have much choice if I want a comfortable ride.

If you are comfortable then who cares what it looks like, but to be honest I like the look of a big saddle to bars drop, I have had close to 30 years to get used to it.

I'm a tad over 6'5" and even on a large frame I have fairly big amount of seatpost showing.

I have a 63cm Kinesis which has about 20ish cm of post showing, my 62cm Trek has about 30cm.

My old road bike which had a slopier top tube still had even more than that.

Any amount that doesn't place undue leverage upon the frame is agreeable to my eye.
