Certainly service them mate. Get everything cleaned up. I think @fossyant has time on his hands - I know hoe he likes clean bikes.

What parts do you think you need to replace?

Many new and even experienced cyclists know nothing about maintenance. So if they could ride it away as is the better chance of you securing a sale

Comes down to that really, if by spending £50 on them will get you £100 extra it's worth it, however if spending £100 only gets you £50 extra then clearly it's not. I'd be happy to buy a bike with a buckled wheel, if a) I knew it was buckled before purchase & b) the price reflected that it was buckled.

So long as you're honest about it then you can do what you feel fit, as mentioned you'll get less cash/ interest in something that needs work but if you don't have the time or inclination to get it done then so be it.
You'll get even less sales saying it's perfect if it's not!

Service them. And detail what you have done.

I never sell a bike that hasn't *just* had a full strip-down. People will pay the premium rather than risk having to spend £80+ at a LBS and have hassles. Even at the lower end.
