The victim was 68 years old, they could have killed him FFS. And IF they are ever traced and convicted, what's the bets on them getting a severe talking to rather than several years in jail?

I tried something like this ages ago for a sad story in the 'stolen bikes' section. Unfortunately you won't even get £1 out of most CCers when it comes to donating to a complete stranger no matter how sad the story is.

Actually we did this on YACF after a disabled person had their trike stolen.

Many years ago we had an old dear who'd had he purse snatched. The boys and girls in the office had a whip round and we raised a couple of hundred quid.

Didn't stop her making an official complaint that we hadn't caught the villain though!
