I returned from work tonight around midnight so I guess you could say this morning.

My good indoor lady informed me that someone I cycle with had a few choice words to say about me. (I had no idea who he was and still don't) the words used where " ah he's the only one that sparks up a fag after training"

So I ask of you all. Mainly as this peeved me slightly.
Why am I the #bluewords because I smoke? yes it's not healthy yes neither is drinking. I have a high stress job I work long hours I fit my bike in where I can and I still put out high avg speeds still climb quickly and still spend time money and effort on cycling. Yet it is my life style and I choose to live it my way. I'm not a health freak and I'm not aiming to go pro.
So what is the fecking problem? I don't turn up on a Tuesday night and give them all sh,t because they can't run a restaurant. I don't care if I have deor or di2 what rims your running with what hubs. I don't care!
I like my bike, I like riding my bike and that's is what I will do. Boohoo to the toffs of cycling.
Cycling first. Fashion is well down the list for me. And if these people can't keep up? Well...

Rule 5!

Bah!

I know what you mean, cycling clubs are a pain, you always get some prat, trying to advise you what to wear or what bike gear you should be using,
Well, if you want to smoke, smoke and enjoy, have a condore moment,

BTW I don't belong to any club, except cyclechat.

Could you not have said some people are a pain, rather than cycling clubs, it would have sounded more correct. As for smoking, no problem but please do not do it near me as I hate the stink.

Same as above. I have no issue with what others do, as long as it doesn't affect me or my family.

Smoking is really annoying when people deliberately light up right at the doorway just to wind people up as they are technically outside. Then you have to walk through the stink with your kids with no option.

Considerate smoking is up to you though. No complaints with that whatsoever. You make your own choices.

I doubt that term is familiar to many smokers!

I used to smoke, got a cracking photo of me crossing the finish line of the Hemel 10 in 2000 with a fag on the go. 1.24 was hardly a record breaker, but still bettered at least half the field.

Gave up a couple of years after that as I simply wasn't enjoying it, and don't like doing things purely for the sake of habit (except annoying User).

There are many things other people do that annoy me, but I won't chastize them or make comment of it (well, unless it affects me or is dangerous). Seems like if you are an adult, you are old enough and can make your own choices! I bet they would be the same people who would take umbrage if you got in their face about the nutritional value of eating a piece of chocolate cake or a bag of chips as well......

I used to disappear into the quietest corner I could find at the end of a race and spark up while I drank a cup of tea. No matter how concealed I was some busybody would always appear and remind me, "That won't do you any good, you know".

Feck off.
