Bit of a strange one, hence thinking people on here may be interested.

I have for sale a Walens Trident, single gear shaft driven bike. The shaft is shielded within the chain (or shaft) stay, and access is through a panel toward the rear of the stay.

I've given it a quick once over and everything works as it should, cantilever brakes and pedals. Looking increasingly rare as a collector's item I'm asking £300 £280, with collection from Leeds.

Thanks for posting this. I was unaware that relatively recent shaft-drive bicycles existed; the last one I can remember seeing being an exhibit from around the turn of the 20th century in a museum in Coventry. I would not want one as a daily-use bike, but as a usable collector's item it should be really appealing to some. It appeals to the purist engineer streak in my character but I am afraid from the point of view of the serious bike rider, getting everything out where I can see it and, if needs be, mending it by the roadside, wins every time.
