No brush, no shaving cream or foam, just warm water and a safety razor. Cheap as chips.

Subscription service is nonsense
Buy a good quality heavy brass safety razor - push the boat out £20, then razor blades cost buttons. Buy a dozen packets every now and again.

To the poster mentioning shaving brush - makes it slightly easier to lather up your face than just rubbing soap on with your fingers. That said I don't often bother taking my brush if staying away a few days, as it's only slightly better. By comparison I do have a (£20) razor in my bag as well as leaving one in my bathroom at home.
