Shed ?

Anyone bought a new one in the last couple years ?
Im looking at replacing my aged 8x6 that has done fairly well despite having OSB floor and roof panels.
I see.online I can get a pressure treated 12mm T&G Construction shed, T&G floor and roof to boot, good size framework inside, double door entry plus a plastic base (no rot) for a tad over £1000....AND its got a 25 year no rot guarantee

That seems very cheap to me !!!
Or am i just out of touch ?

How does that compare to "tiger sheds". I think my son got one from there a few years ago.

I'm currently looking at Asgard steel sheds, which aren't cheap (an 11x5 is the fat end of £2k) but they look very hardy and secure..

I built my own. I costed up buying and the timber, bolts, paint, etc. from builders merchant and costs were about the same yet what I built was massively stronger. Didn't take long to make.

I have the 4 bike shed wedged into my back garden. Placed on 6 paving slabs. It's now 8 years old. It's been put up, taken apart, moved and put back together again and is still rock solid. Someone would have to have some very hardy, loud tools to get into one. They are also 100% waterproof.

It seems the sheds they tout specifically for bike are all based on the 5' wide models in varying lengths - IIRC 7, 11, and 14ft.

These cost a bit more than the "normal" variants of the same size but their site isn't explicit as to why. I suspect there's potentially additional storage / hangers inside, although there doesn't look to be anything specifically to accommodate the bikes themselves..?

It seems these 5' wide models would better fit into the garden, however I think the proportions might be less accommodating of fitting bikes inside (along with other stuff) and in this regard I'd prefer the 7' wide models although externally I think this is pushing it.

How do you order the bikes inside yours and are you able to fit other stuff into it as well? I assume it's intended that you have them aligned with the long side of the shed and nudged up against the back wall..?

No, it's this one

4 bikes in the shed easy, also a car rear screen bike carrier, 2 wheel bags and a few other bike bits and pieces all fit in fine.
