We have 2 sheds and a bike store. 1 of the sheds is newly built to become my workshop now that the garage is being turned into another reception room.

Because the shed is close to the boundary, I carefully measured this to make sure that the apex with the bearers doesn't exceed the 2.5m that requires planning permission.

However rather than digging in down into the slight rise on the plot as I instructed, the people who installed the slab laid this on top and now the apex height is closer to 3m rather than 2.5m.

Big debate at home at present as to whether we seek retrospective planning or just keep our heads down and hope there's a short 'statute of limitations'!

Does anybody have any experience of such issues being enforced?

Not sure, but IIRC, timber buildings such as sheds are classed as temporary structures so aren't covered by planning. I may be wrong though:laugh:

edit: just checked. I'm wrong!
