After my icey off in January, I broke my rear shifter (just cosmetic). A bit ofglue and electrical tape has made it look a lot better, but I lost the "name plate".
I have the Dawes Ultra Galaxy - I think they are 105 built in gear/brake shifters. The existing one looks identical to this one;

Before I fork out the cash, are they usually all the same size so these will fit okay?

Cheers

You need the correct ones - they are different shapes.

If you have ST-R600's on your bike, these are the right ones.

- I've Googled Dawed Ultra Galaxy and got the spec of the current one, and that has ST-600 shifters, so is yours this year's model ?
- the shifter model might be on this cover/cap/plate, on the other side to the one you've lost
- or you can pull/roll back the rubber cover of the shifter unit, on the outside, from the back, and the model number is moulded onto the black plastic unit inside : should say ST-600

The ST-R600 is Shimano's 'small-hands' version of the 9speed 105, the same shape as 9speed 105 or Ultegra, but not the same shape as 10sp 105 or Ultegra, not same shape as Tiagra or Sora.

So plates from ST-5500 & ST-5503 9-speed 105, or ST-6500, ST-6503, ST-6510 9-speed Ultegra will all fit - although they will say 105 or Ultegra on them.

Those from ST-5600 and ST-6600 are 10speed 105 and Ultegra and won't fit, not ST4400/ST4500 Tiagra or ST-3300 Sora

There's a shop on eBay, George Hall's Cycle Centre, who is always selling these things and a bit cheaper than SJS (certainly when SJS's postage is included - I baulked when they tried to charge me £2.75 postage on two spoke nipples...)
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/georgehallsc...t=0&_trksid=p3911.m270.l1313&_odkw=&_osacat=0
It is a proper shop, so you could ring them direct and ask if they have yours, or 9sp 105 or Ultegra, just with Shimano on them rather than 105/Ultegra
Here's phone number http://www.cycleweb.co.uk/cntys/mid/mid4.htm

Cheers Andy for the reply.
I have the 2007 model. Got the Dawes 2007 catalogue still and the spec in the back says that they are "Shimano ST-5510 STI 105", however I did what you said and rolled back the hood and it says it is ST-R600!

I think it's a safe bet to say to go for the ST-600's.........
