Shim it or buy a new one

I ordered a titanium seatpost for my tempest but has come back as 27.2 when i wanted a 31.6, it can go on another bike, but before i send it back to china can i shim it or will i just need to buy a new one?

You can get an adaptor but that's going to be quite noticeable.

A shim should work fine. They are about £6-£9. Just check the sizes.

My Giant came shimmed. Std 27.2 seatpost, with a bigger seat tube dimension.

The shim slides all the way down and is not noticeable.
