Well I just picked up a Specialized cross trail needing some tic

i could replace like for like ....BUT

maybe a upgrade maybe worth while ...tho I’m sure not really needed

if I was to upgrade the original Shimano Acera derailleurs what would you recommend

thanks in advance

What shifters do you have? And what cassette? Are you hoping to just change the derailleur or are you looking for a full gearset update?

2014 Acera is 8 speed I'm guessing, probably on a wide range 11-32 (or similar) cassette?

If so any Altus/Acera/Alivio rear mech from the last ten years will do nicely. Not much to choose in terms of functionality, just pick one you like the look of that's going cheap!

Bear in mind it's not really an "upgrade" as such, as you won't be able to tell the difference when riding the bike! I'd only replace if it was broken (usually either crash damage or when the springs & pivots simply wear out from use).
