Shimano PD ES 600

Thought would post in MTB section as it’s a SPD pedal (MTB) so maybe more people know answer.
I have the above pedal and about to purchase new shoes for road riding. Silly question but will the grips underneath foul the cage around clip ?
Looking now at Northwave Ghost or Sidi. Pedals below

Yeah I think it was a daft question..... why would they make an SPD pedal that didn’t suit MTB shoes Home schooling is wrecking what bit of brain this knuckle dragger has left

the cage around the clip is designed so the grips rest on it for more pedal contact

I use similar (the 520 version) great road pedals.

I have some 520’s and PD500 bigger platforms on t’other bikes. Thought I would give these a go on new bike. Seem nice and smooth so hopefully good.

I have mtb shoes and they work fine on those pedals

I have the Northwave MTB shoes that have a really prominent grip and they work perfectly and I use a shimano DX pedal which has a big platform around the clip. Its all groovy.

i read as the new design is missing the back bit compared to the older a600 design although they work the same and offer the same support they do hang at a different angle making it a bit trickier to clip in
