Shimano R7000 GS question.

Hello.
I wonder if I can run a 11-36T cassette with a 105 R7000 GS (long cage) without any link adapter. The tech sheets states the max acceptable for it is 34 teeth but heard it is still possible with 36. Any thoughts please? Thanks.

Thanks. Allready ordered PG-1170 11-36, 11 speed from Sram and also a 46t as big chainring replacement for my standard 34-50. So my drivetrain will be 11-36 rear with 34-46 front. Should be the chain also replaced as time the overall diameter of the big chainring will be reduced with same number of teeth please ? Thanks.
