One pair of cycling road shoes (proven in multiple full and half Ironmans in the days when I could!) that I bought in 2011. after a year or so i just kept them for races. fitted with Look Keo cleats. you don't have to do an Ironman, they will work for your local ride!
SH-TR51 https://www.greenwichbikes.com/product/shimano-sh-tr51-shoes-12637.htm pic also attached. size 46 which is a comfortable 10 to 10.5 UK. a wide fit in my view. Fitted with Look Keo cleats but will take SPD-SL
