Just received my new wheels which i got from Ribble, my question is is it normal for then to send wheels out in their own boxes or should they come in a shimano box, the other question is should the rear wheel have a off-center hole for the inner tube stem as mine is and not in the center like the front, could anyone who has some and got from ribble be able to tell me the answers, thanks.

Hi

1, Don't know but I can't imagine it really matters! FWIW my Fulcrums and Visions both came in their own boxes.
2. Yes, on the RS31s the rear rim is asymmetric, something to do with balancing the loads between the drive side and the non-drive side. So the hole *looks* off-centre but actually, it isn't. It's the rim that is not symmetrical.

Cheers

Stu

Thanks matey, did look and i did notice that the left side was flatter than the right side which had a more sloping edge, for a moment i thought i had been sold a second hence the box it came in.

I had the exact same experience with the RS30s I got a couple of years ago. Was in a country lane mending a puncture when I saw the apparently off-centre hole. Someone on cyclechat reassured me so I'm only passing the favour forward really!

Mine came in a Shimano box if I recall, so it's not box-related

Same on the RS10's & 11's, stuff from chainreactions is usually in unbranded boxes, my new 105 kit from Ribble was in unmarked packaging.
