Cheers Alicat. The weather did not help as was pretty windy on tops and it puddled down for a lot of it. However we had a big incentive to finish as we were ridding in memory of a couple of colleagues from the hospital we work at in Chesterfield who tragically died quite young.

The amazing thing was we had the sister of one of them ride with us and she completed the ride after only being on a bike 4 times in training. She was awesome and we were so proud of her.

10 speed you could get a 12-30 casette but for some reason Shimano 11 speed start all their wider range cassettes at 11-.
I'm pretty sure most people wanting the lower ratios would happily sacrifice the 11 cog for a 'one less tooth' jump further up.

Most people would cope quite happily with a 13t as their smallest sprocket, at least they could give us the option in the range. I have an 11t on my recumbent trike, after two years it is still unmarked as the chain has been nowhere near it apart from the initial setup.
