Shimano XT Deore

Is a Shimano XT Deore right hand shifter seviceable? The spring is sticky and the lever is not returning after shifting.

Flood it with WD40 or similar , leave a few hours, spray it again, then try it. The grease dries up with age and locks the mechanism solid.

They come with grease inside
Clean them and re- grease ,i have a tub of waterproof grease but seldome bother to use it

Trust me, I'm a doctor. Been there and done it many times with dead shifters, and they've all revived. You can re grease with a cotton bud, but they won't need it.

Flooded the mechanism with WD40 but the lever feels to me like there's no action in it at all. Feels like the spring is dead rather than dried up grease!
