Shut all borders and man them with armed forces. People without official proof of identity should be rounded up and returned to their country of origin. Those who kick up a stink and start arcing up, let them have it and f*** off to the PC brigade.

Don't be too quick to dismiss this post.

Stateless, invisible individuals are a big problem when it comes to nicking criminals.

I am an ordinary citizen, I have a UK birth certificate, an easily traceable education and work history, a National Insurance number, bank and credit cards in my name, an NHS record, a driving licence, a property in my name at the Land Registry - the list goes on.

No point in me trying to get away with something as simple as a speeding ticket - I could be traced in minutes by a 12-year-old with a computer, let alone a skilled investigator.

The terrorists of which we speak have none of these things, which makes them a lot harder to detect.

You do realise that the one person so far identified as being one of the terrorists was identified by a passport? Terrorists with passports? Whatever next?

Unless you think that everyone across the world needs to have UK papers? In which case there will be no terrorism. Nobody in the UK at all ever will undertake to do anything bad.

Let's be honest. I haven't seen any jackbooted skinheads blowing anything up or machine gunning people lately.

But that doesn't mean that we tar everyone with the terrorist brush just in case, most are just normal prople fleeing from daily occurrences like Paris last night.

And it appears, like our 7/7, at least some, if not the majority, are nationals of France who should be no less traceable to a 12 year old French kid with a computer as you and I are here.

Nuke IS. And I ain't joking. They need wiping off the face of the planet.
I should have known better than to open this thread at this moment.

I'm listening to my daughter across the room chatting to her gran on Skype. The shots in the background are from ISIS thugs just a few streets away.

Knowing the identity of each citizen does not tar each citizen with any brush.

This is a thread about terrorists, but my point is a more a general one.

To give an example, how is it that one person can take 50 driving tests in different names?

Because we don't know the identity of a significant number of our citizens.

@Marmion points out at least one of the terrorists had a passport.

Great, but the only pity of that is there was enough of him left to link the two.
