Shoe quality / comfort

Over longer distances 75 miles+ my toes can get a bit uncomfortable. This last weekend I did a 75 followed by a 85 the next day and towards the end the toes were really cramping.
My shoes are RO88's.
Would an upgrade help - id happily budget £100 ish if it controls the problem.
Thanks.

It may do, it may make things worse though, IMO its more do with the fit than price.

I have never try on shim shoes ... May be its time for a good shoe fit. even if its just trying on shoes in a shop to see which one suites your shape of foot/feet..
All shoes have a different fit .. if you are doing the mileage you need a good shoe ££

I've bought some Shimano M162L shoes recently and I also find the toe area a little bit cramped. I did read that they Shimanos weren't the widest of shoes and this appears to be true. But otherwise they are excellent. That said, they are fairly new so maybe they will loosen up in time hopefully.

It might be that you need to loosen the straps a bit - the fit might be fine at the start of a ride but then can then be too tight as your foot will expand after a while.

I'd be careful with Mavic shoes too. On advice I ordered a pair once size larger than my standard size, but I still find them too tight, and I don't have platypus feet so they must be narrow
