I had to do a speed awareness course in Carlisle. On the course was an elderly lady who swore blind that she had never went over the limit in her life and this was all a terrible mistake and an injustice. After the course I headed home up the M74 and was overtaken by the same little old lady in her wee silver Mercedes sports car doing well over 100mph.

Means that the driver 'bought it' Maz - to coin old wartime parlance. Classic would have 'photo-shopped' the conductor - an even worse fate.

Self drive cars are not yet road legal and I expect that before they are the government will have to draft some very carefully worded legislation to cover this.

What would happen if a self drive car killed someone, for instance. Could the driver be prosecuted?
