    i will do so.

This is me and my cycling partner to be's first trip, but we decided to do it for a good cause, however, im concerned about ensuring we have everything to need. And as you can see we lack the basic experience....

we are doing it, all on bikes, a round trip over the days, carrying the lot between the two of us

Two. Change them every day, wash them in the evening and they should be dry by the time you need them again.

I'd say two. If it rains, the wet pair may not dry out in time for the next day's ride...as I learned from bitter, soggy experience.
