If you're up for a fight you could ask them why there is a different dress code for men and women, and how they think that stands legally.
Men can’t wear shorts at work in our office. However, our team has just hired a temp for a couple of weeks. He’s in his early 20s – recent graduate – a Kiwi of Maori origin just over from Kiwiland. He’s wearing tight ¾ length hipster jeans with an ankle bracelet.

Surely we should be able to go to HR now and ask that shorts can be worn. I mean...
are you jealous he might attract attention of somebody in the office ;)

I'm allowed to wear shorts at work while driving and delivering, but the male office staff can't.
I’ve already asked 5 people in the office if I should wear a skirt. 3 women said no; 1 woman said yes; the Chief Exec said to wear a dress, but that’s because he’s gay and has a penchant for Indian men.
Come on man, this is your big chance to get yourself a kilt!

Not only are they really comfy, many women love to see a man in a kilt.

(Quite a few blokes do too. Ask Reg!)

If he's taller than you, User, just think of him as wearing your full-length trews. Actually, when I saw the thread title, I thought you were into chasers BEFORE the beer.
Serioiusly 'Teef. "If he's taller than User". You're not ruling out many people.

I wear shorts and a t-shirt to work on Fridays. If this dressing down lark is to work, it needs to be done properly!!!
