Filming from the seatpost? because it reduces vibration that you get from the handlebars...and with a CMOS censor on HD cameras (and some others, but lets not go into that) a rolling shutter means any vibration causes a horrible rolling effect in the screen, so its in my "groin" to help prevent that.

I just thought it was more interesting that being sat in an armchair talking about it, surely being out on a bike is more interesting?
But surely minors aren't in a suitable position to make that kind of decision, so therefore, a law for under 16 year olds is a good idea?
I was waiting for the punchline on that tube,the rider falling off,hitting a dry stone wall,being attacked by a stray Seagull.......anything to liven it up
The irony is, I wasn't wearing a helmet whilst making this.. I lost it you see, and with no law to stop me, i thought id go without it
Under 16's might not see common sense in the same way, peer pressure, and for very young children, they may not know the benefits, and if its not law for minors to wear them, they might not, and they might get injured.
I've had my helmet quite possibly save my life (fell off some fairly high skinnies-head on rock, helmet ruined, head saved).
If it's not proven that it's a necessary requirement for adults why should it be for under 16s? Anyway, under 16s are capable of reasoned decision making - ask Anne Funnell

That was boring. Poor pro-helmet argument, poor presentation. Its just someone with a bee in there bonnet riding about on a bike ranting.
If you mounted your camera on your helmet you might pay more attention to not loosing your helmet!

Expect to mount a digital camera to my helmet would requiring drilling it, risking saftely, and also have a quarter inch bolt on the inside (I assume there are purpose built mounts, but why both when all I need is a reflector mount and a quarter inch bolt, especially since my new bullet cam setup is coming in a couple of weeks).

I'm 15, and whilst I agree, I am perfectly able to make that decision, as I'm sure every other 16, 15, 14, 13, 12 year old is, but what about young children? Under 16 seems to be a cut-off point, so plucking out a random age, i.e. all those under 11 must wear one, isn't quite as practical, in my opinion, although maybe it would work. But with 14, 15, 16 year olds, surely peer pressure often means a helmet is neglected, I know ive purposely not taken my helmet when going to see friends because its a pain to carry around etc. But if it was law, it would be a given that everyone has one, its just a thought.

. I haven't listened to the rant, cos I'm at work, but I'm not sure ranting is the way to make a good bike video. Nice bike, nice road - why not just edit the best bits together and put some nice music on it or something? We don't mean to to be rude, but helmet arguments are old hat (boom-tish) round here. Some of us wear them and some don't (I don't). We're grown-ups (or nearly) and make our own choices about this stuff. Helmets are an irritating distraction in the big picture of cycling, safety, and our well-being on and off road. Wear one if you like, but don't expect to harass others about not doing so and get a sympathetic audience. Welcome to the forum, by the way.

I have found, during these many years that a helmet is not a bad thing after all.
1/ It is strapped to the head and stops the peak cap flying off.
2/ A Silver coloured helmet shades the cranium against the sun's rays better than a peaked cap.
3/ My hair gets less wet in the rain, thus avoiding chill.
