Should cyclists be made to keep off narrow roads?

.....why I need to risk my life driving over a solid line on a road because a lycra-clad cyclist has chosen to cycle on a narrow and dangerous road?
It would even be okay if the cyclist was simply pedaling between the verge and the white line.
But more and more cyclists are using David Low Way, between Coolum and the Maroochy River bridge, forcing cars wanting to get past into the middle of the road.
I was all for governments making life easier for cyclists on the Sunshine Coast.
As someone who loves to get on a bike and pedal around, it used to be difficult and dangerous navigating around the Sunshine Coast.
But how quickly the pendulum has swung.
Thanks to the State Government's new rules, the rights of cyclists now outweigh the rights of motorists to be able to travel safely."

The quick answer to the first question is "you don't. Overtake when its safe."

The second answer is you shouldn't cross a solid white line at all if the vehicle you're overtaking is traveling above 10mph (at least here in the UK), which any self respecting Power Ranger will be doing.

It's a waste of time trying to explain anything that's uttered by Australian drivers, they just don't get it.

No - BUT they can act responsibly. Is it asking so much to wave a car past when you feel ok for them to pass. They have deadlines to meet and places to go just the same as you do. Bicycles DO NOT have any more right of way than motorists and just because many drivers are ars---es doesn't mean you have to be one too.

At weekends I wave cars through on narrow lanes locally all the time. Not because I have any affection for drivers. Just to get 'em off my 'arris quicker.

Seem to please as they often do little friendly honk-honk-honks or flash their yellow blinkies.

On my commute I'm not so charitable and keep my hands on the bars. The volume and speed of oncoming traffic is much greater.
