To be honest, having looked at the thread, I've seen a lot worse. There seems to be a fairly spirited defence of cyclists and only a few petrolhead spudbrains. I wouldn't bother.

It makes you laugh really. This anti cyclist spirit is founded on jealousy in many cases. "Why me? Why not them?" Insurance, tax, duties, MOTs, quicker during rush hour in many cities (London, Bristol, Cambridge, etc), the fact we're sometimes healthier and thinner than the muppet in the car who is moaning, its cheaper and no fuel needed to ride, registration plates, "driving" tests... the list goes on.

They're jealous. They just cant see it right now

Interesting... some on there seem to be harping on about MOT and then confessing that they car is spewing out black smoke. Sounds like someone needs their car checked over by plod as it sounds like it and they are unsafe on the roads.

why does no one ever mention that most third party liability insurance (often a bolt on to buildings/contents insurance) covers cycling as long as you're not racing in a mass-start event?

Because they often dont realise they have it, even if they're a cyclist. Some Unions have 3rd party travel too..

Just read about them blaming cyclists for being hit because they always wear black, yadda yadda yadda.. Someone should post a list of cyclists killed - all of which were wearing hiviz and had lights, helmets and reflectives, etc..

EDIT: Another point that can be made about cyclists is that they often report the potholes and road damage that drivers so often complain about. I know many cyclists (myself included) who have gone out of their way in their own time to record and document road damage issues and pass the information along to the councils responsible.

The Highways Agency are in charge of the Motorways aint they? They cost £6.5b to run... Only £5 is raised from VED. Perhaps they should use the Motorways,LOL!

If I am on my bike, then I am not using either of my two motorcycles or my car, which means i am probably paying more tax than most car drivers,
I've had that discussion with someone when stopped at lights. My reply was "Three cars and two motorbikes, I bet I pay more than you do in your company Ford."

Edit: with the user name A.Cyclist, I can hardly be called a troll
