Locking my bike outside Caffè Nero I was approached by an old dear who asked for what race the square was being prepared. I told her the World Championships were coming to Yorkshire in a couple of weeks. She looked thoughtful and then asked. “Are you taking part”?

It's a funny old world, I felt quite heroic yesterday after comments from complete strangers.
Apparently cycling for a couple of miles in the rain, with a following wind and wearing my full waterproof gear, puts me up there with Scott of the Antarctic.
