Dismantled the last bike I built recently. Everything was torqued up to specs initially , but the rear derailleur was kind of loose upon dismantling.

Building my new bike tomorrow.

Or is it a bad idea?

Dont bother it may need to come off oneday and you dont want to muck ul the threads or make the job harder if you need to use too much force to get it off you risk breaking the hanger

Yes - thread lock is ALWAYS a good idea since it prevents both galvanic corrosion and fretting. Contrary to opinions stated above it doesn't increase dismantling force, in fact it's likely to reduce it by eliminating corrosion. The only time it increases dismantling force is if you use one of the more exotic versions. Stick to 242 or 243 (both blue) or perhaps 222 (a sort of purple colour) if you are worried about dismantling force. I was going to enter a link to the Loctite web site, but ironically it seems to be seized up at present!
